| I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Southwest Texas State University. There I studied under Michele Conroy and Carolyn Bryce Brooks. In 1997, I set up a studio at my home and began taking workshops to keep abreast of new innovations and techniques. I have worked under the expertise of Jake Black and Walt Glass, and taken workshops from James Watson, Randy Brodnax, Lisa Ohr, Tom and Elaim Coleman, Mark Epstein, Lana Wilson, Robin Hopper, Billy Ray Mangnum, and many others. In the last few years, I have exhibited in many Juried Art Shows throughout the United States. You will find my work in homes around the world. Perhaps I am a bit different from a lot of potters. I don't try to tell a story, or make a statement. I let the work speak for itself. My greatest thrill is seeing a mound of clay turn into a work of beauty, and to follow the process from the beginning to end. As long as I remember that I too am an instrument used to create, beauty is formed. |
